The McConnell Brain Imaging Centre (BIC) is a major platform and research centre entirely dedicated to brain imaging. It features 7 multimodal imaging core units (MRI, PET, MEG, EEG for humans and disease models), comprehensive high-performance computing and data storage resources, and prominent expertise in biomedical image and signal analysis. Overall, the McConnell Centre is home to 150 faculty, students and support staff. All core units of the BIC are conveniently located under the roof of the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital (MNI/H). The Platform Support Grant to the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre is to develop existing and new strengths in multimodal data collection and analysis. One pivotal arm of the grant is to augment production and research capacity in molecular imaging of humans and disease models, to bridge between observation scales, cellular mechanisms, multimodal phenotypes and behavior. Another major emphasis is on enabling new research and training capacity in Neuroinformatics, with advanced data computing, management and curation, under the principles of open science and reproducible research.
